This course builds on Business & Systems Analysis, SQL for Analysis and Networking Fundamentals. Take them first if you are new to the topic.

About this course

Senior systems analysts do more than write requirements: they shape how a new system fits into everything the business already runs. This mid-level course follows one running example, Harbor Outfitters, a mid-sized outdoor-gear retailer replacing a home-grown customer database with a CRM connected to its ERP and web shop. You will map an enterprise systems landscape, draw context and data-flow diagrams, and score build-versus-buy options with a weighted matrix. In the integration module you read an API specification and test real calls, write a source-to-target data mapping in SQL, and plan a data migration with reconciliation queries that prove nothing was lost. The delivery module covers user acceptance test scripts, training and a go-live cutover plan, and compares the analyst certifications from IIBA (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) and PMI. Activities are paper or free-tool tasks and SQLite exercises that run in your browser. It builds on Business & Systems Analysis, SQL for Analysis and Networking Fundamentals.
