About this course

A beginner course for anyone heading onto a construction site, a shop floor or an engineering field visit. You will learn what OSHA requires of employers and what rights you have as a worker; how to run a hazard walk-around and use the hierarchy of controls; how to match PPE to electrical, noise and fall hazards; the lockout/tagout sequence and basic electrical safety (shock, arc flash, approach boundaries); ladder, fall and confined-space awareness; how to identify, inspect and use common hand and power tools; how to read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer; and how to plan the OSHA 10/30 and other safety cards employers ask for. Everything here is awareness level: real work needs your employer's or school's training and supervision. Practical tasks are safe to do at home with ordinary household items, paper and a pencil.
