Design under real constraints: safety, cost, time, and materials.
Engineering is design under constraints. A bridge has to be strong and affordable and buildable and safe — and those goals pull against each other. Engineers make trade-offs on purpose, then test and refine.
Across civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, the daily work is similar: frame a problem, sketch options, model them with math and software, build or simulate, test, and improve. Teamwork and clear communication matter as much as the technical skill — a design only helps if others can build it.
