Before you start

This course builds on HTML & CSS Foundations. Take it first if you are new to the topic.

About this course

An intermediate course for software developers, UI developers and product designers who already know HTML and CSS. You start with the people accessibility serves and how WCAG 2.2 turns their needs into testable success criteria, then make widgets keyboard operable with visible focus and give every control an accessible name, using ARIA only where HTML falls short. Next you build responsive interfaces: fluid type and spacing with clamp() and design tokens, card grids and container queries that reflow at any width, and images that load the right size and format. Finally you test like a professional: automated audits with Lighthouse and axe, a repeatable screen reader script with NVDA or VoiceOver, and a hands-on fix of a broken page. Every lesson has a reading, free videos and a quiz, and most have an in-browser exercise that checks your work.
